Many Xbox fans using Xbox One and Series X/S are encountering difficulties when trying to install backward compatible titles from the original Xbox and Xbox 360. Players attempting to install backward compatible Xbox games via disc are being met with an error message stating, "There's a problem getting this content right now." Interestingly, games already installed from the Xbox 360 library seem to function without issue, but installing new titles from discs has proven to be problematic for many users.

There does seem to be a potential workaround for those who don’t want to wait for an official fix from Xbox. By searching for the specific backward compatible title in the Xbox store while the disc is inserted in the console, players may receive an installation prompt. However, this method isn’t guaranteed to work in all cases. This situation is particularly frustrating for Xbox fans who rushed to purchase backward compatible Xbox 360 games before the closure of the Xbox 360 Marketplace in July, which saw many titles become unavailable.

For those unable to install their backward compatible games through this workaround, the only option is to wait for Microsoft to address the issue. Given Xbox’s strong focus on backward compatibility, it’s reasonable to expect that a fix will be released in the near future.
