Honkai: Star Rail Leak Reveals Changes to Jiaoqiu's Kit

A recent Honkai: Star Rail leak has revealed several changes to Jiaoqiu's kit, one of the new units debuting in version 2.4 this summer. According to the leaked banner schedule, Jiaoqiu will be available during the second phase of version 2.4, alongside another five-star character, Black Swan. More details about these playable banners will be unveiled in a livestream on July 19.

Before Jiaoqiu becomes playable, a new five-star unit, Yunli, will debut in the first phase of version 2.4, reportedly arriving with Huohuo at the end of this month. Both Jiaoqiu and Yunli will feature on their own banners for three weeks, requiring players to spend their Special Rail Passes to unlock these new units permanently.

The leak from Dim has revealed significant changes to Jiaoqiu's kit, which might spark controversy among players. Jiaoqiu's skill now deals fire damage equal to 75% of his ATK (reduced from 90%) to a single enemy. His trace no longer reduces the target's Effect Hit Rate or provides an additional damage bonus, instead regenerating 15 energy at the start of the battle. Additionally, Jiaoqiu's ultimate now deals AoE damage equal to 60% of his ATK (down from 120%).

Jiaoqiu's ascension materials are reported to include Raging Heart, Shards of Desires, Immortal Aeroblossom, and Immortal Scionette. He has a new Talent that inflicts one stack of the Ashen Roast effect, increasing the initial damage enemies receive and dealing additional DoT damage. However, Jiaoqiu's kit could see more changes before his official debut in version 2.4.

Jiaoqiu is a five-star Nihility unit designed to inflict temporary effects on enemies and serve as a DPS character. He creates a special dimension lasting 15 seconds, dealing AoE Fire damage equal to a percentage of his ATK. The Ashen Roast effect he inflicts is similar to a Burn status, causing enemies to receive DoT damage at the start of each turn.

Jiaoqiu's playable debut will follow Yunli's addition to the banner cycle later this month. Leaks also suggest that Yunli's skill set will undergo several changes, potentially affecting his position in the current meta.
