A dedicated Elden Ring player has accomplished an extraordinary challenge: completing the game's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion with only 1 HP, 1 FP, and 1 Stamina. Streamer Ainrun took on this arduous task, which required dozens of hours to finish, as Shadow of the Erdtree features some of FromSoftware's most punishing boss fights. In a recent stream, Ainrun announced the completion of the "World's First 1HP/1FP/1Stamina run," marking the end of this ludicrously difficult challenge. Though the run focused solely on the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, the accomplishment remains impressive. Ainrun revealed that the battle against Radahn alone took over 20 hours and more than 900 attempts. This fight posed significant challenges for players upon the DLC's initial release, with many considering it even tougher than other formidable FromSoftware foes like Malenia from the base game, the Orphan of Kos from Bloodborne, and Isshin from Sekiro.

Overall, the Shadow of the Erdtree challenge took Ainrun nearly 55 hours to complete, with Radahn proving to be one of the most formidable obstacles. Although the DLC initially received some criticism for its aggressive combat and heightened difficulty, it was also praised for the substantial content it added to the base game. Ainrun explained, "The one HP didn't matter much because I'm used to no-hit runs. The one stamina was the worst part. You can't chain actions like spam rolls or do combos because every action consumes stamina and drops into the negative. You have to wait a whole second for your stamina to recover before you can perform another action. The one FP meant I couldn't cheese bosses or use Ashes of War or anything. It was just pure movement, parries, and self-hate."

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree saw tremendous financial success at launch, becoming one of the top-selling DLCs on platforms like Steam. However, despite its critical and commercial success, FromSoftware has confirmed that there are no plans for additional content for Elden Ring. Nevertheless, Shadow of the Erdtree has provided players with a vast new world to explore, and challenging runs like Ainrun's help keep the gameplay fresh for those who have already completed the expansion in a conventional manner.
