Victoria 3 Set to Release Free Update and New DLC on November 21

Victoria 3 is gearing up to launch a free update along with new purchasable DLC content on November 21. The latest Dev Diary for Victoria 3 announced that Update 1.8 and the new DLC, Pivot of Empire, will be available next month.

Launched in October 2022, Victoria 3 is a real-time strategy war game where players can shape their ideal society during the historical Victorian era. Players must navigate competing societal interests while engaging in global diplomacy. The game boasts intricate historical narratives and a complex economic system. Since its release, Victoria 3 has seen regular free updates, with the developer maintaining transparency through weekly Dev Diaries, and has already introduced several DLC packs.

In the recent Dev Diary posted on Paradox's website, it was confirmed that Update 1.8 and the Pivot of Empire DLC will arrive on November 21. Similar to previous DLCs for Victoria 3, Pivot of Empire will introduce new events, characters, and objectives. Focused on the Indian Subcontinent, players will witness the decline of the East India Company and the emergence of the British Raj. Highlights of the Pivot of Empire DLC include a new map and unique events and journal entries that span a century of political transformation in Indian territories.

The Pivot of Empire DLC will offer additional narrative content for Victoria 3 and will be priced at €9.99 or approximately $10.99 in the U.S. While players will need to purchase the new DLC, Update 1.8 will be available for free to all Victoria 3 users. This update will include general bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and new features. Among the additions are Indian Caste Laws, a revision to existing Indian Uprising Events, and new content related to famines, Company Building Ownership, and various political movements centered on national, religious, and ideological themes. Additionally, the Discrimination mechanic will be reworked to add more depth and complexity.
